This trip isn’t about seeing Thailand from the outside. It’s about being part of it, waking up early to offer alms to monks, winding through Bangkok’s historic streets in a tuk tuk, getting drenched in laughter during Songkran’s joyful chaos, then letting it all sink in on the beaches of Phuket.
You’ll experience a country during one of its most meaningful times of year, not as a tourist passing through, but as a thoughtful guest honoring its traditions and energy. Day 1 – Welcome to Bangkok!
Arrive in Bangkok and begin your Songkran adventure with a seamless transfer to your riverside retreat. Check in and unwind as you settle into the serene atmosphere of this colonial-style getaway, offering a perfect blend of luxury and authenticity. As the evening unfolds, enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the river, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. Celebrate the Thai New Year with a lovely dinner, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display, marking the beginning of your cultural journey. A tranquil yet exhilarating experience that embodies our commitment to crafting transformative, purposeful travel moments.
Day 2 – Alms Giving & Cultural Exploration
Start your day with the peaceful and meaningful Alms Giving ceremony by the riverfront. As monks arrive by traditional longtail boats, you’ll have the unique opportunity to offer alms in a time-honored Thai tradition, embracing the spirit of Songkran. After the serene ceremony and monks’ chants, enjoy a breakfast buffet by the river, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of the morning. Next, venture on a half-day adventure to Koh Kret, where you’ll explore the island by bicycle, discovering its rich heritage of pottery-making and local flavors. Afterward, head back to Bangkok for check-in, followed by an unforgettable dinner cruise along the iconic Chao Phraya River, an evening of elegance, culture, and breathtaking views.
Day 3 – Temple Tour & Songkran Water Fights
After a delicious breakfast, venture on a tuk tuk adventure through Bangkok’s iconic temples. Visit the majestic Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, home to Thailand’s sacred Emerald Buddha. Then, explore Wat Pho and its famous Reclining Buddha, before crossing the river to visit Wat Arun, known for its stunning spires.
Continue your cultural exploration with visits to the Metal Castle and Golden Mount, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the city.
After lunch at a local riverside restaurant, it’s time for the highlight of the day: Songkran celebrations! Head to Khao San Road, the heart of the water festival, and dive into the vibrant chaos armed with a water gun. Experience the energy and excitement of Songkran like never before. Finish the day by transferring back to your hotel for some rest and free time.
Day 4 – Elephant Sanctuary & Songkran Water Fights in Silom
Begin your day with a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary, where you’ll connect with elephants in their natural jungle home. Enjoy feeding them fresh fruits and walking alongside them as they bathe and play—this ethical, hands-on experience offers a deeper understanding of elephant conservation.
Next, head back to Bangkok and dive into the vibrant energy of Songkran in Silom. Join the bustling water fights, armed with a water gun, and immerse yourself in the lively, celebratory atmosphere. After the festivities, return to your hotel for some well-deserved free time to unwind or explore further.
Day 5 – Bangkok Departure or Optional Extension to Phuket
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to the airport for your departure.

Day 5 (Continued) – Phuket Relaxation Weekend: Arrival & Leisure
Fly to Phuket and check into your tranquil beach resort, offering a perfect balance of comfort and serenity. After your arrival, enjoy the day at your own pace, whether that means unwinding by the pool, strolling along the beach, or simply relaxing in your peaceful surroundings. The rest of the day is yours to recharge and enjoy the calm atmosphere of this coastal paradise.
Day 6 – Exclusive Relaxation at Yona Floating Beach Club
Spend your day at the world’s first floating beach club, Yona, where luxury meets the sea. Enjoy a private cabana, the perfect spot for ultimate relaxation with panoramic views. Take a dip in the crystal-clear waters, lounge by the pool, or simply savor the serene atmosphere. This day is all about indulgence, where relaxation meets exclusive coastal beauty. The perfect escape from the festival excitement, allowing you to recharge in style.
Day 7 – Free Day to Explore Phuket at Your Own Pace
This is your day to unwind or explore Phuket as you please. Whether you want to check out local weekend markets, enjoy authentic street food, or simply soak in the tropical beauty, the choice is yours. Lounge at the beach, visit nearby attractions, or relax at the resort—it’s all about what feels right for you.
In the evening, we’ll gather one last time for a special Farewell Dinner—a chance to reflect, connect, and celebrate the memories we’ve made together in Thailand.
Day 8 – Farewell
All great things must come to an end, but only until our next LNT experience. You will be transferred to Phuket Airport, where you’ll bid your “safe travels” to your new LNT friends and “goodbye” to Thailand!

This 5-day Songkran celebration in Bangkok (with an optional 3-day Phuket extension) is designed for travelers who thrive in high-energy experiences and want to embrace Thailand’s most iconic cultural festival fully. From biking through Koh Kret’s hidden gems to splashing through the streets during the Thai New Year water festivities, this portion of the trip is lively, movement-filled, and packed with unforgettable moments, with very little downtime.
While the activities aren’t overly strenuous, you’ll want to feel comfortable being on your feet, staying active, and getting (very) wet as part of the celebration. It’s not a slow-paced getaway, but it is a joyful, full-on cultural experience.
For those craving a little balance, the Phuket extension offers just that. With ocean views, coastal breezes, and more built-in free time, this 3-day add-on brings a slower, more relaxed rhythm to close out the trip.
Accommodations
This journey presents two accommodation choices: double occupancy and single occupancy (limited availability). Should you choose double occupancy as a solo traveler, we will pair you with another esteemed member of LuxNomad Travels based on your preferences. For those traveling with a companion, kindly notify us during the registration process so we can ensure you are accommodated together.
Opting for a single-occupancy room (at an additional charge) is available, but please be aware that these spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Your comfort and preferences are paramount to us, and we are dedicated to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience throughout your stay.
Airfare
This trip requires you to fly into Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). If you’re joining us for the full Bangkok + Phuket experience, your departure flight will be from Phuket International Airport (HKT). If you’re joining us for Bangkok only, you will both arrive in and depart from BKK.
Please note that international airfare is not included in your trip package. Additionally, domestic flights within Thailand (Bangkok to Phuket) are not included for those who’ve added on the Phuket extension. These intercountry flights are typically very affordable (ranging from $50–$90), and we’ll send out coordinated booking instructions closer to the trip so that those who’d like to travel together can do so.
Our team will provide detailed travel guidance once your registration is complete, including ideal flight times and booking tips. We kindly ask that you wait to book your flights until you receive our email with exact instructions to ensure your travel aligns smoothly with the trip itinerary.
Meals
Most meals are included on your trip:
Breakfast: 7 total (4 for Bangkok only)
Lunch: 4 total (3 for Bangkok only)
Dinner: 3 total (2 for Bangkok only)
Unless otherwise noted, all included meals come with water and soft drinks. Alcohol is not included unless specifically stated.
We’ll be enjoying a wide range of Thai cuisine: from local gems to group dinners that showcase the region’s flavor. While we’re happy to accommodate dietary needs when possible, we encourage guests to come with an open mind. If you’re a very selective eater or have a rigid palate, this may not be the best fit.
Important Note: Tips are not included in your trip price. Please plan to budget $100 to $150 USD for tipping local staff and service teams. Our partners play a big role in making this experience special, and we want to honor their hard work appropriately. If tipping is a concern, this may not be the right experience for you.
Activities
This celebration trip is designed for travelers who enjoy being on the go and fully present in the moment. The Bangkok portion is fast-paced and energetic, with very little downtime, as we explore the city and take part in the Songkran Festival, Thailand’s biggest and most joyful water celebration. Be prepared to get wet, laugh hard, and stay active with experiences like biking through local neighborhoods, guided tours, and full-day adventures.
The Phuket add-on offers a slower pace. While it still includes planned experiences, you’ll have more free time to rest, enjoy the coast, or explore at your own rhythm.
Overall, this trip is considered moderately active. You should be comfortable walking up to 5 miles per day, sometimes in heat, and participating in group activities. If you’re looking for lots of downtime or prefer a completely self-paced trip, this may not be the best fit.

Travel Documents
Passport
Guests are required to hold a passport for all international trips with at least six months of validity from the last day of the trip. The airlines may deny travel, and the passport officials may refuse entry if you try to travel with a passport that expires within six months. LNT will make every effort to verify passport validity; however, this is the responsibility of the guest.
Visa
For U.S. citizens, a visa is not required for stays in Thailand of up to 30 days for tourism purposes. You may be asked to show proof of onward travel.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC):
Thailand has introduced a Digital Arrival Card to simplify the entry process. All travelers must complete this form online before arriving in Thailand. We’ll send you a reminder and walk you through the process closer to your departure date to make it as easy as possible.
Travel Insurance
LNT does not require guests to hold travel protection/trip insurance, however, we do highly recommend it.
Travel insurance/trip protection is a type of short-term insurance that protects the financial investment in a trip and may include coverage for lost baggage, trip cancellation, flight accidents, and/or other losses incurred before or while traveling. Should your trip be canceled or interrupted for a covered reason, a travel insurance policy will reimburse you for the eligible prepaid and non-refundable portions of your trip.
We hope that all of our guests can accompany us on this experience. Unfortunately, circumstances can arise that could cause you to cancel or interrupt your trip. We understand how disappointing it is to be forced to cancel your trip prior to departing. To avoid financial and emotional anxiety, we recommend guests purchase travel insurance immediately upon registration. Whichever insurance provider you pick, be sure to inquire about their “cancel for any reason” policy.

Additionally, travelers should make sure their health insurance plan covers them when outside of the United States. LNT is not responsible for medical expenses accrued while abroad, should an incident occur.
Trip Payment & Payment Plans
Each trip and destination is specially curated and therefore offers a unique payment plan. If you are unable to pay the full amount upfront, monthly payments are available. Just secure your trip with your down payment and then the remaining payments start the following month on the same day of each month.

Refund & Cancellation Policy All guests (with the exception of special promotion bookings) have 24 hours from the time of booking to cancel a trip for a full refund. After the 24-hour booking period, all trip deposits are non-refundable.
Any cancellation of a booking by a guest must be delivered to LNT in writing and be acknowledged by LNT in writing. For an abundance of clarity and to avoid any miscommunication, we will not consider a reservation canceled until we receive an email from you. In the unfortunate circumstance that you need to cancel your trip, based on the date you notify us by email of the cancellation, we will refund the balance, less the deposit and the following fees per trip:

Although we recommend travel insurance to ensure you are protected in the event of a medical or family emergency we encourage you to opt for the “cancel for any reason” coverage, specifically. Should you need to recover any of your non-refundable expenses, you can file a claim with your travel insurance.
